It all started…

After graduation of Advanced Filmmaking from Fanshawe College Darryl Ayles co-founded Orange Hat film Productions with Jamara Forbes. Since then it’s rare to see him without an orange hat on his head.

Darryl has a passion for cinematography, lighting, writing. He hopes to pursue a career in cinematography having such inspiration as Roger Deakins, Brandon Marsh, Benoît Debie, and Robert Richardson crafting the path for this generation’s wave of cinematographers.

After shooting majority of his projects on the Canon XA10, he acquired the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and recently the URSA 12K. He has used the Black Magic 4K on recent short and feature length projects he has shot for filmmakers in London and surrounding areas and hopes to continue to help others visualize their projects. He hopes to venture into the medium of physical celluloid shooting for his future projects.
